Bless Ingus for trying once, during the second verse, to stem the tide of feedback.  However, the timing for turning the pedal back on and playing the chord didn’t quite happen, so he must have figured, “What the hell?  Leave it!”

That Big Muff Pi pedal was something fierce.

This recording also preserves for all time (or at least until the magnetic poles go wonky) Ingus’ little sniff thing, right at the beginning.

Ingus:
Honestly, though, I miss that pedal.  Properly mic’d and EQ’d it probably could have sounded really nice.  Or at least less like someone standing next to you and saying “SHHHHHHHHHH”.  At any rate, I’d say throw this one in the “the demo was better” pile too.  I wonder if we re-recorded it later? (at least once, yes.)
