Toasty Outro

Do Not Eat (1994) — By Ingus on October 30, 2009 at 12:20 am

Remember, kids, this is hard to do.

And thus ends Do Not Eat, with Ratza rapping an AMG song (does anyone even REMEMBER AMG?!?), and me channeling Doug McKenzie.

Why does Louis say “Evolution”?  I have no idea.

The sped up stuff (and don’t ask me why I remember this) is a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode that was previously on the VHS tape we were using for Burnt Toast the Movie.  We were recording BTtM at a higher speed, for better quality, and taping over the MST3K

A similar thing happened with the movie explorers – That’s what the garbled dialog at the begining of yesterdays post was – Pete stopped the recording, started back up, and at some point we got “but… but you’re just kids… You didn’t tell us?!” from the end of Explorers, which we must have been taping over. Remember, kids, reduce, reuse and recycle!

The picture today is the scrubbed initial back design to the chicken little shirts.  The xeroxing, obviously, was too dark to halftone and use for shirt printing, but we didn’t know that then.  The crossed out parts were supposed to be taken out.  When the artist at Hilton Screeners (where both Thom and I would later work) told us there was no way he could clean the image up (he didn’t have that fancy enhancer software they use on CSI), we went with the Louis-warming-his-hands image instead.  A good move, really, as this is terrible.  But hey, what did we know?  We were just kids that used old tapes of bad sci-fi movies to record our live shows!
